In working with most printable medias, masking is required in order to remove the printed image from it's
carrier sheet. This process is fairly simple and easily learned. The mask will also act as your cover sheet
for the finished design. The illustrations below will demonstrate this process.
 |
Step 1:
Roll out enough mask over the printed images so that the entire printed area is covered with mask. For best results, it is a good idea to leave a margin of mask around the printed area...about a half of an inch is recommended. |
 |
Step 2:
Cut the mask being used off of the roll with scissors or the cutting utensil of your liking. |
 |
Step 3:
Peel the cut mask away from it's paper carrier.
Tip: If you are not heat applying the images right away, save the paper carrier - you will learn what to do with it soon. |
 |
Step 4:
Arc the mask over the center of the print as shown in the picture to the left. Continue laying the mask over the rest of the image to the edges. |
 |
Step 5:
Using a squeegee to press the mask over the entire printed area. For best results, start in the middle and work your way out. Squeegee until all air bubbles are removed from the printed area. |
 |
Step 6:
Peel the mask away to remove the printed design. Continue peeling until the entire peice of mask is removed. For best results start from the corner of the masked area. |
 |
Step 7:
If heat applying the design, place the masked image onto the garment in the desired location. If applying at a later time, place the image back onto the paper carrier and store in a cool, dry place. |
